Bakrie University Becomes Pts in Jakarta with the Third Highest Achievement in the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026

Jakarta, 25 June 2026. Bakrie University has once again recorded an international achievement with was included in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 and rose 200 points in world position from the previous year, making Bakrie University in the third position of Private Universities that have an impact on sustainability in Jakarta. This achievement is global recognition of Bakrie University's role in supporting the sustainability agenda through education, research, governance, collaboration and social contributions.

This achievement shows the strengthening of Bakrie University's position in world-class sustainability rankings. In this year's THE assessment, Bakrie University showed positive performance in a number of aspects, especially those related to gender equality, institutional governance, concern for the environment, and social contributions in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Chancellor of Bakrie University Prof. Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana, said that this achievement is the result of the joint work of all academics in building universities that are not only academically superior, but also have an impact on society.

“The achievements of THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 are a reminder that the role of universities does not stop with teaching and learning activities. Universities also have a responsibility to provide education, research, governance and collaboration that have an impact on society and the environment," said Prof. Sofia.

According to Prof. Sofia, this international recognition is an encouragement for the campus to continue to strengthen programs that are relevant to future needs. This includes developing the quality of learning, expanding cooperation, strengthening research, as well as implementing activities that provide real benefits to society.

“We see this achievement as motivation to continue to move further. Bakrie University will continue to strengthen graduates who are adaptive, have social and sustainable awareness,” he added.

THE Sustainability Impact Ratings is a global ranking that assesses the contribution of universities to the sustainability agenda based on the Sustainable Development Goals indicators. This ranking has become an international reference in seeing how higher education institutions carry out their academic, social and institutional roles in responding to global challenges.
